Innovative heating and ventilation solutions underline Johnson & Starley's presence at Ecobuild 2016

Johnson & Starley’s innovative approach to heating and ventilation solutions for the domestic and commercial markets was clearly set out at Ecobuild 2016.

The company's established range of market leading warm air heating, gas boiler and ventilation products form the backdrop to a line up of innovations designed to provide solutions to particular requirements.

Take, for example, the established highly energy efficient QuanTec HR 28C (PFGHR) condensing combi boiler. This is now offered as a combined package with the Aquair heating interface unit (HIU) to end users and installers looking to replace old centralised heating and especially warm air systems. Apart from a highly attractive five year guarantee, the package is especially advantageous since it uses existing warm air ducting and installation is straightforward.

Another step forward now sees the availability of the QuanTec 28KW LPG combination condensing boiler that has been added to the existing comprehensive QuanTec gas boiler range. Offering exceptional efficiency in LPG consumption thanks to the proven integral Passive Flue Gas Heat Recovery (PFGHR) function, this new product is designed for off-grid applications such as within holiday homes, residential park accommodation as well as smaller commercial premises.

The manufactures free 5 years parts and labour guarantee has now been extended to cover the whole range of QuanTec boilers, and when installed as a package with any of the Johnson & Starley Aquair range the 5yr guarantee will also apply to the Aquair. *

The Aquair range itself has also been extended with the introduction of the highly versatile downflow S-36 water to air space heater. It offers all the benefits of centralised heating and can replace a warm air heater, making use of existing warm air ducting. As with all the Aquair range it also has the option of supplying unheated air for cooling purposes in warmer weather. Designed for use with a vast range of renewables and traditional heating sources, the S-36 sits at the top of the Aquair range and its output is ideal for larger premises.

Perhaps the most interesting development that was on show at Ecobuild 2016 was Johnson & Starley's new ‘Concept’ Micro CHP boiler. This extends the versatility of the company's heating range as it can run not only on natural gas but there could also be options for models to be used with hydrogen, kerosene or solar panels as potential heat sources.

From its established ranges, Ecobuild 2016 provided another opportunity to see the advantages of WarmCair condensing warm air heaters that combine high efficiency with low running costs, low NOx emissions and low operational noise levels. With thermal efficiencies of up to 98%, models are available with or without DHW and in both upflow and downflow versions. (Downflow only for DHW models)

In the field of ventilation, Johnson & Starley's line-up includes proven solutions that cater for many different domestic and commercial environments. From simple extract fans to specialised cooker hood options for whole house ventilation systems and from centralised extraction to heat recovery systems, Johnson & Starley customers can take advantage of highly efficient technology that fully complements the company’s heating expertise.

The innovative Q-Vent HRC Compact, for example, is designed for hotel bedrooms and features high efficiency EC fan technology. Providing continuous extraction of stale and contaminated air from the bathroom through a system of fixed ductwork and grilles, it recovers the heat using a high performance heat exchanger and cleverly recirculates it within the bedroom for major energy savings, and is virtually silent in operation.
