Coral entrance flooring, protecting buildings one step at a time

The Coral® entrance flooring collection from Forbo Flooring Systems has been improved, refreshed and extended to offer more design freedom, while providing safety for visitors, protection for floors and style for interiors.

Independent testing by Cleaning Research International has shown that by installing Coral, up to 95% of dirt and moisture can be removed from the soles of shoes in just six steps, which can reduce cleaning time by up to 65%. These savings in cleaning time mean that the product and fitting costs can be recouped within just six months of use.

A variety of new Coral designs and shades have been introduced to reflect the latest trends, including tonal plains and striking bright tones, as well as tile formats for additional flexibility.

The new Coral tile offer includes every colourway in the Coral Classic and Brush ranges, and provides all the dirt and moisture retaining properties of the sheet options but in a 50 x 50cm tile format, which helps to reduce waste and allows for a quicker installation – saving time and money.

Garry Bateman, Forbo’s Head of Technical Sales and Support, said: “A well-designed entrance flooring system should form an integral part of a building’s cleaning and maintenance strategy. It is often an afterthought when it comes to designing a flooring scheme for a building, when in reality, it should be one of the first decisions made.

“Our Coral collection not only provides superior performance in terms of reducing cleaning costs and removing dirt from the soles of shoes, but it can also have a positive impact on the health and well-being of a building’s occupants. In fact, a healthy entrance is now part of the Well Building Standard, and installing a permanent entrance flooring system like Coral will combat the introduction of potentially harmful substances to indoor spaces.”

The collection consists of a variety of ranges to meet individual entrance needs: Coral Welcome, which has the style and aesthetic of a luxury carpet; Coral Brush, the a great all-rounder for absorbing moisture and removing dry soiling; Coral Classic, the ultimate moisture absorber; Coral Duo, which is ideal for areas that need both maximum dirt removal and exceptional moisture absorption, and Coral Logo which incorporates a bespoke print or cut out design.
