EJOT Offers Assured Medium-Heavyweight Fixing Solution for Externally Insulated Walls

Achieving a secure fix for medium to heavy weight building elements in ETICS and other external wall insulation applications is assured with EJOT’s Iso-Corner load-bearing bracket which has now secured ETA (European Technical Assessment).

The newly awarded ETA confirms the engineered value of this fastening element, which is moulded from high density polyurethane foam and can be easily cut on site with an electric saw to sit flush with the external insulation face. This dependable supporting bracket combines structural strength and adaptability offers a cantilever arm to length of between 80mm and 300mm.

Iso-Corner is ideal for attaching building elements to a façade that is to be treated with an ETICS – external thermal insulation composite systems – or other external wall insulation solution. Such elements include railings and Juliet balconies, which always require a secure attachment to the load-bearing external wall (substrate) and not the multi-layered external wall insulation system.

The idea behind the EJOT Iso-Corner is to provide an L-shape installation angle which allows a building element to appear to be fixed to the face or reveal/soffit, but it is actually anchored in to the substrate of the building face (the substrate). It is available in three sizes and has two installation surfaces to attach the building element using EJOT Delta PT 100 screws. The result is a perfectly coordinated fastening system, and because Iso-Corner is manufactured from polyurethane foam, the risk of thermal bridging is also reduced.

EJOT Iso-Corner is part of a range of innovative ETICS mounting products which help to achieve safe, secure and long-term fastening solutions for all kinds of light, medium and heavy weight elements. This includes:

•  Iso-Spiral Anchor
This is a spiral-shaped plastic assembly anchor complete with sealing washer and integrated threaded sleeve. It provides a dependable fastening solution for lightweight elements in ETICS facades, such as for house numbers and external lights.

•  Iso-Dart
This fastening system is used for light to medium loads where attachment back to the building substrate is essential. It comprises a façade anchor with plastic installation bush, complete with sealing washer, which accepts common coarse threaded screws for a secure attachment.

•  Iso-Bloc
This is an easy-to-cut block moulded from high density EPS, which is particularly suitable as a backing to allow for thermal bridge-free attachments in ETICS applications.

As a global leading in construction fastening solutions, the EJOT UK team offers a wealth of technical support and specialist guidance to specifiers and installers to ensure they achieve the right result when mounting to ETICS facades.
