Passivhaus open day at the Rehau hub

With interest in Passivhaus building now approaching an all-time high in the UK, fenestration specialist REHAU is staging a Passivhaus focused Open Day at The REHAU Hub in the Building Centre London on Wednesday 23rd March.

The team at The REHAU Hub are inviting construction professionals to drop in any time between 10am and 5pm to access expert advice on issues relating to Passivhaus fenestration and ventilation systems.

As well as Kevin O’Neill and Tony Harbour from REHAU, there will also be representatives on hand from Pilkington and an acoustic vent supplier, who will be able to talk about the specific demands of air tight construction and the glazing and ventilation solutions available. Recognising the importance of how well the structures surrounding windows and doors are sealed, there will also be an advisor available from a specialist EPDM membrane and sealant manufacturer.

The big advantage for specifiers who come to the Open Day is that they can see the full range of REHAU Passivhaus compliant and certified products on display at the same time. This includes the GENEO window system and REHAU Polytec 50 aluminium clad curtain walling system, which together can provide the building air tightness required, and the AWADUKT Thermo ground to air heat exchanger system which provides the necessary ventilation.

Tony Harbour, Manager of The REHAU Hub said: “We held a general fenestration Open Day at The REHAU Hub in October last year, and the feedback was so good from the architects and developers who attended that it prompted us to set up a regular programme of similar events where they can come in to talk to us about current or upcoming projects.

“We’re focusing this one specifically around Passivhaus because, despite the fact that there has been such a surge in enquiries related to it in recent months, we know there is still a real knowledge gap in the market.”

REHAU’s Open Days are part of the ‘KNOWHAU’ package of support which the company offers to commercial specifiers including CPDs, training, CAD guidance and site visits.
