Vent-Axia’s Award-Winning MEV Range Now Available in Recycled Plastic

Industry ventilation leader and innovator Vent-Axia has launched its award-winning Lo-Carbon™ Multivent mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) range in recycled plastic, making sustainable attainable for housebuilders.

Leading UK ventilation, this move to manufacturing the MEV range from recycled plastic, forms part of the company’s commitment to becoming increasingly sustainable, including using recycled plastic for an ever-widening number of products.

The Multivent MEV family offers a total of nine units all made with recycled plastic. Manufactured from a reliable recycled source which is regularly available, the new Multivent MEV units are now available in black, rather than white, as they are made from black recycled ABS. The change from manufacturing from virgin to recycled plastic does not affect the function or performance of the MEV units, which are still market-leading.

Designed to provide a simple and effective solution to help housebuilders meet the Future Homes Standard the award-winning Multivent MEV range provides the ideal solution for new build residential projects, helping housebuilders meet DER requirements through market-leading energy efficiency and improving indoor air quality (IAQ) for homeowners. Now on top of this the move to recycled plastic further improves the environmental credentials of the product for housebuilders and homeowners.

“Sustainability has always been core to our product innovation and the new Multivent MEV range is no different. We are committed to making sustainable attainable through continuously improving our products’ energy performance, reducing waste throughout our products’ lifecycle and significantly increasing the use of recycled plastic from the circular economy in the manufacture of our products”, said Joe Tse, Product Manager at Vent-Axia. “By 2025, over 70% of our products will be from one of our Lo-Carbon™ ranges and 90% of the products that we manufacture will be made from a recycled source. The Multivent MEV range is just the start!”

A reliable, highly efficient, quiet and easy to operate ventilation system is key to unlocking a healthier, greener future. The Vent-Axia Multivent MEV range offers just that with this highly efficient range of nine MEV models to ensure housebuilders have exactly the right ventilation for a property. The units use energy efficient EC/DC motors, with 1/3 less energy lost to heat than a conventional AC motor. The MEV units offer an easy-to-operate control platform and extremely low operating noise. Additional benefits include increased ventilation rates, compact design, easy installation, as well as simple and accurate commissioning. With a common digital control platform throughout the range and smart accessories for use in the home, the MEV range is a breeze to install, commission and control. Plus, the wealth of control and switching options across the range gives housebuilders the flexibility to provide a solution for any new build scenario.

The Lo-Carbon™ Multivent MEV range offers a high efficiency, low profile solution for continuous whole house mechanical extract ventilation that reduces the carbon footprint of a house. The range combines market-leading efficiency recognised on SAP PCDB combined with a specific fan power as low as 0.14w/l/s whilst still achieving ultra-low noise levels. Designed for the simultaneous ventilation of separate areas in the home, units can service a kitchen and up to six wet rooms. With nine models to choose from, housebuilders can select the model to meet the needs of each home, with airflows from 118l/s to 159l/s and demand control which enables precise ventilation. To further improve IAQ, the Lo-Carbon Sentinel Multivent models are available with integral and adjustable CO2 and humidity sensors which increase ventilation rates in proportion to relative levels of pollutants within the dwelling.

Designed to meet the exacting demands of developers, designers and users the Multivent MEV range offers advanced control options and easier installation and commissioning. With the option of wall, ceiling or loft mounting, the units are available with (model dependant): wireless app control; demand control enabling precise ventilation rate; app enabled for easy commissioning and monitoring; an integral LCD display allows the installer to select appropriate speed to meet demand; manual and automatic control options; Plug-n-Play automatic sensor detection; switched live and SELV connections, optional wired or wireless controllers; comfort mode, allowing homeowners to control when the unit runs and for how long to avoid disturbance; and an integral adjustable overrun timer and delay on timer.
