The 2015 Structural Timber Awards were hailed a great success by industry leaders and innovators from across the timber construction sector and the 2016 event is set to build on this success. With two new additional award categories and a judging panel made up of renowned industry experts - organisers are preparing to receive a record number of entries as the awards grow in recognition and prestige.

Vastern Timber has unveiled Brimstone, the first commercially available thermally modified British timber, at Ecobuild 2016. Sourced exclusively from English and Welsh woodlands, the Brimstone range is ideal for cladding, decking, external joinery and furniture, and includes thermally modified ash, sycamore and poplar.

American cherry brings its natural colour and warmth to Europe’s largest passive office building.

The winners of the 45th annual Wood Awards were announced at a ceremony held last month at Carpenters’ Hall in London.
