Human-centred design isn’t a new concept, but with a growing body of research highlighting its important role in boosting workplace productivity, it has become a key consideration for architects and interior designers, writes Laura Light, Interface Concept Design Team Leader.

Recently, the colour grey has become increasingly popular in the design community, displaying on everything from furniture, wall décor, flooring and even the complete exterior of a building.

As the name suggests, timber-effect or wood-effect tiles are tiles, which look like wood but do not act like wood. Made from porcelain and used on both floors and walls, timber-effect tiles can incorporate a range of grain designs, natural irregularities and weathered finishes.
