Architect in Profile

After attending South Bank University, completing her Masters at The Bartlett and eventually submitting her PhD, Margot Krasojević went on to work at the offices of Zaha Hadid, NOX, Morphosis and Michael Squire. Fast-forward to 2020, and she has two architecture design studios in London and Beijing. Here, FC&A talks to Margot about her career and finds out what inspired her to take the architectural route.

New course highlights the importance of ADR

RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) has launched a new online training programme to support professionals working in the built environment to acquire knowledge in dispute resolution processes and procedures.

On 10th June 2019, Alan Titchmarsh, MBE, opened the first phase of The Welcome Building and surrounding landscape at Royal Horticultural Society gardens, Wisley, Surrey. The new facility has transformed the experience for visitors to the gardens with new buildings including a spacious arrivals hall, café, shop, plant centre and a 100 seat restaurant. There are now three large car/coach parks including Blue Badge scheme easy access bays for visitors in park two.

Sally-Anne Balmer, Architect and Technical Team Lead at NBS, took the typical route to qualify as an Architect in the UK via a combination of academic studies at Manchester School of Architecture and two years’ experience in the industry before final qualification. Being a member of the RIBA and subscriber to the NBS for several years, she was interested in gaining a different perspective of the construction industry. Joining NBS has allowed her to develop her research and technical authoring skills within the emerging digital environment and offer suggestions for tool improvement from a subscriber’s viewpoint.
