LCD Switchable Glass at the Touch of a Button by ESG Glass

LCD glass technology is changing the face of privacy glass, providing a host of new possibilities for the refurbishment and construction industry.

Privacy glass was once all or nothing – either frosted, etched opaque glass or similar. This is no longer the case thanks to the advances in the use of interlayer technology.

Now you can switch between transparent and opaque at the touch of a button.

When an electric current is passed through the LCD interlayer, the liquid crystals align to allow light to pass through the glass panel. However, when the current is switched off, the liquid crystals settle into a pattern creating a barrier, which blocks out the light.

Commercial and residential owners are all benefitting from Switchable LCD glass due to its modern-style privacy and excellent security benefits.
