VMZINC for Newcastle uni tower refurbishment

Newcastle College’s Parsons Tower, built in the 1960s, has been the subject of an £18m refurbishment which will extend its usable life by around 40 years.

A pre-weathered VMZINC ANTHRA-ZINC® and QUARTZ-ZINC® standing seam facade and roofing system has transformed the building, giving it a completely new face on the skyline. Being such a dominant feature of the city landscape, visual aesthetics were a key consideration for the Red Box Design Group who have subtly extended the façade into the roofline and used the two shades to provide a striking visual contrast.
