VMZINC for facades and roofs of Langwith college student accommodation

As part of a £30 million project to provide self-catering accommodation for 645 students at the University of York’s Langwith College, CJCT Architects specified VMZINC® façades in QUARTZ-ZINC PLUS®.

Buildings with pitched roofs such as the ‘Glasshouse’, which houses a cafe, bar, common room and launderette, also have the same compact warm roofs and facades, helping the scheme to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating. The QUARTZ-ZINC contrasts with VMZINC PIGMENTO facades in varied shades on another project on the campus by BDP Architects. These very much replicate the University’s Computer Science Building through use of interlocking panels.
