First folding wall BIM objects on NBS library

Partitioning experts, Style is the first company to make BIM objects for their folding wall systems, available on the award winning NBS National BIM Library.

NBS authored BIM objects can be used with confidence as, to be included, they must be consistent with the industry standard, with complete data that is in the correct format to allow full collaboration and information exchange throughout a project.

“We’ve been working extremely hard to meet the needs of architects and specifiers by making BIM objects accessible and easy to use for key elements of our moveable partitioning wall ranges,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director.

“There is no doubt that BIM will shape the future of how buildings and construction projects are designed and specified, and by placing them onto the NBS National BIM Library is an exciting industry first we’re incredibly proud of.”

Rather than simply delivering downloadable 3D objects in different graphical formats, Style’s BIM files on the NBS National BIM Library provide customers with up-to-date, reliable and precise product data for the planning, construction and management of buildings. BIM offers enormous improvements when it comes to saving time and money. It increases the accuracy of estimations, reworks, alterations and the avoidance of error due to the loss of information.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) describes the collaborative approach to construction projects via the use of a digital model, ensuring all team members can work to the same standards, providing easily accessible data on every component to integrate design and lifecycle management.

In 2016 it becomes a mandatory requirement in the UK for all centrally procured Government projects to be a fully collaborative 3D BIM (with all project and asset information, documentation and data being digital).
