Acheson + Glover grows successful flagstone range with Granaza

Acheson + Glover (AG) has introduced a beautiful new addition to its extensive range of flagstones.

The Granaza range - characterised by its soft texture - boasts striking looks, strong durability credentials and undisputed quality.

Ideal for either residential or public realm schemes Granaza comes in three stunning colours – Sol, Lux and Umbra – and whilst available in 40mm, 50mm and 63mm depths it can also be made to order for urban and public realm projects.

AG’s Commercial Sales Manager with responsibility for GB Distributors Peter Turner explains:

“Granaza flagstones are exceptionally versatile and can achieve either a traditional ‘old classic’ look or an ultra modern, contemporary one. This offers our stockists a point of difference and helps them meet the needs and requirements of their own customers.”

“The product is stocked in 40mm depths, making it easy to handle and ideal for both merchant and retail customers. We have also listened to our merchant partners and as a result of that a new 600x300x40m format will be stocked, which is lighter and easier to handle than our traditional 600x400 and 600x600 formats.

“Whilst the 600x300x40mm allows linear, contemporary laying patterns our 300mm width Granaza will enable it to be considered as an alternative to the 450mm products used for pathways in GB.”

One of the elements that gives Granaza true stand-out is the superb natural stone appearance achieved through the incorporation of exposed granite and quartz aggregate. Meanwhile the product’s closed face and mild texture make it remarkably easy to clean.

Manufactured in state-of-the-art UK facilities Granaza has an ‘A’ BREEAM Rating and an ‘A+’ Rating when used with a recycled sub base.

Peter Turner continues: “As a business with a growing reputation for quality, range and service in Britain we are genuinely excited about what’s ahead in 2016. This is the first of a number of great new products that we anticipate will be warmly received by GB Merchants as well as helping them grow their customer base and sales volumes.”

AG recently strengthened its links with the GB merchants’ network by signing a new two-year deal with leading buying group H&B.

H&B has members in England and Wales boasting a combined turnover of around £800m.

According Peter Turner, plans have been developed to increase AG’s number of stockists throughout Britain in 2016 as part of a measured business development strategy.

“AG go back to 2012 with H&B and have worked with a number of their stockists since then. As a business we are focused on building meaningful partnerships with Builders’ Merchants across Britain through a fresh, flexible approach, competitive pricing and an extensive range of high quality products with 30-year guarantees.

“Our recent deal with H&B is an important element in our business growth strategy as we seek to position ourselves as a supplier of choice for paving and walling products in GB.”

Managing Director, Stephen Acheson whose grandfather founded the business in 1960 is proud of the feedback his team receive on a regular basis from merchants across Britain.

“The feedback we consistently receive is that we are friendly, responsive, easy to work with and a solid, dependable partner. This growing reputation for the way we do business is as important to us as the reputation of our products for quality, aesthetics and performance.”

AG is an independent manufacturer and distributor of walling, paving, facing brick and structural precast products which is headquartered at Fivemiletown, County Tyrone but with additional locations in Northern Ireland and England.

Founded more than 50 years ago AG employs around 400 people and has a turnover in the region of £40m.
